…that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet.
― William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet

I started my initial Linux blog at the same time when next version of Ubuntu was about to launch. Being a Ubuntu fan at that time, I spent a lot of my time contributing and chatting in  Ubuntu Support channels on IRC.

Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu has a nice strategy to name their Ubuntu Linux OS versions. Version name has two words where the first word is adjective and the second one is name of animal and they both start with the next alphabet from the previous version name. At the time when I was thinking about this blog, the next alphabet for Ubuntu Version name was supposed to be ‘M’.

Previous Ubuntu version 10.04 LTS was named as Lucid Lynx

One day, while waiting for the announcement of the next version of Ubuntu, I made a joke in IRC channel, that the next name for the Ubuntu O.S. , in the series ‘M’ might be “Mighty Monkey”.

But Canonical disappointed me by naming the next Ubuntu 10.10 as Maverick Meerkat.

Then, I decided to use the name “Mighty Monkey”, for my blog. Hence the name! My first blog was deleted due to some technical reason. I am starting here with fresh content.
